Welcome from the Headmaster

You are warmly welcome to Okuapemman School and I am confident that this platform will offer all stakeholders that unique opportunity to make monumental contributions towards the development of this great and wonderful institution situated at Akropong-Akuapem.

With your support our quest to train disciplined, loyal, dedicated, morally upright and academically excellent students will become a reality.

The school was founded by Barrister Maxwell Kwaku Opoku Acheampong in the 8th of February, 1957.

Okuapemman School provides a quality learning environment that is second to none with richly deserved reputation for excellence. The school is integrated with Visually Impaired since 1983/84 academic year.

Here at Okuapemman, you will have unprecedented opportunities. You will be taught by seasoned and qualified teachers who are expert in their fields. The student experience too is exceptional. You will join a diverse population of well over 2500 students from Ghana and few others from sister African countries. More importantly, you will have the opportunity to truly define yourself and choose your own direction in life. Thousands of Okuapemman graduates now live in all corners of the globe, many contributing to law, health, science, business and government. Ghana’s most renowned journalists, musicians, scholars and leaders also received their start at Okuapemman.

At Okuapemman School, you will have the option to study General Science, Agricultural Science, General Arts, Business, Home Economics and Visual Art. You will also study in a beautiful campus with a well-layout and beautiful landscape. This couple with the good weather condition on the Akuapem Ridge in general has made Okuapemman an enviable place to pursue academic work.

Again, as a boarding school, most of our students are housed in comfortable dormitories. In all, we have three houses- Kwadade, Opoku Akyeampong and Akuffo. You will also find classrooms equipped with learning tools, library and other superb study spaces such as the special Braille library for the Visually Impaired students and fantastic sporting facilities, including a well-maintained green grass football field and a hockey pitch.

We have partnership with Whitestone School in the United Kingdom and this fosters numerous teacher and student exchanges. Our teaching staff frequently collaborates with experts in other schools in the country and even beyond. We also work in close partnership with the authorities of the Akuapem Traditional Area, the Akropong people of the Akuapem state, and we enjoy strong links with the other Akuapem Peoples.

I am proud to lead this great school. I hope that you enjoy your experience here, and grasp all the many opportunities that are on offer. I am also confident that you will make lifelong friends while you are here. After you leave, with a well-earned qualification in hand, the beautiful Okuapemman School will continue to occupy a special place in your life, I wish you all the very best.
